Empowering Colombian entrepreneurs with economic hope, one micro-loan at a time.

Our Mission

Fundacion Esperanza Economica’s mission is to promote sustainable social and economic development of small business owners through micro-loans and disciplined programs.

Through FEE, small businesses are seeded with micro-loans helping economically-challenged Colombians to survive and thrive.   FEE empowers business entrepreneurs to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families through independence, leadership and self-determination.  It expands their professional skills through a disciplined program of accountability, training and mentoring.  FEE directs all activities toward economic and social development of Colombian entrepreneurs who have few resources and are excluded from other financing systems and sources.

Our History

The Fundacion Esperanza Economica is a non-profit organization that has promoted entrepreneurship for more than 10 years in Cartagena, Colombia. Founded by individuals and supported by the Methodist Church, FEE has been and will always be committed to mitigating poverty and its consequences. Starting in the Flor de Campo neighborhood, FEE has expanded throughout Cartagena and now operates in five neighborhoods. FEE, at any point in time, is working with >65 entrepreneurs, and providing more than 200 loans annually.

At the Fundacion Esperanza Economica, we firmly believe in the power of economic support, education and inclusion to empower micro-entrepreneurs; we are committed to continuing our work to create a more equal and promising future. We provide Hope!
